I am a Level II Certified Avian Specialist and member of the American Federation of Aviculture, and The Avicultural Society of America, in hopes of constantly furthering my education in aviculture as well as attempting to aid in conservation efforts of the multitude of avian species.
All of my birds are on a healthy diet of seasonal mixed vegetables,legumes, leafy greens, fruits and a daily pellet/seed based mix depending on what their bodies require. I try to give them something different everyday to stimulate their interest and make sure they are getting as much nutrition as they would if they were foraging for themselves. It is very important to me that they have a healthy diet, and are familiar with a variety of edibles.
My babies are fully weaned and very social when sent to their new families. The well being of my birds come before anything! We maintain an aviary because we LOVE raising and owning these wonderful creatures. My hope is that everyone try to care for their bird in the same way, or better than if possible, when they leave me for their new homes. I would rather keep them all instead of having a baby go to a bad environment.
I have been a bird enthusiast for as long as I can remember, and will strive to educate myself and others in aviculture.
